Grants
The CBA South Midlands group offers small grants for archaeological research within its four counties. Grants are usually up to
£1000, and applicants must be a member of the CBA or the CBA South Midlands group.

2021: Buckinghamshire Archaeological Society — digitisation and submission to the Archaeology Data Service of the Milton
Keynes Monographs series
2019: CLASP — purchase of materials to assist the suitable long-term storage and preservation of CLASP’s artefact archive
2018: Buckinghamshire Gardens Trust — recording and conserving some of the gardens and parks of historic Buckinghamshire,
training volunteers in the research and recording process
Bedford Young Archaeologists’ Club — contribution towards hosting the 2018 YAC Leaders’ weekend in Bedford
2017: Middle Nene Archaeological Group — magnetometer survey to support excavations at a Roman farmstead at
Nassington, Northamptonshire
Leighton Buzzard & District Archaeological & Historical Society — artefact analysis for a rescue excavation of four Anglo
-Saxon graves disturbed by a metal-detectorist at Hockliffe, Bedfordshire
2016: David Baker — osteological analysis relating to unpublished historic excavations at Elstow Abbey, Bedfordshire
2015: Maids Moreton Archaeology Group — geophysical survey and artefact analysis for a community project investigating a
mound in Maids Moreton, Buckinghamshire
